What is something your teammate does that drives you crazy?
Let's talk about blind spots.
You see that co-worker's blind spots loud and clear, don't you? In fact, if you see them, it's likely your other co-workers do too. You may even all talk about them. Those things that make it difficult for you to get your job done. Those things that make you feel like you can't trust them to actually get their job done so you can get your job done. Or maybe they are the office gossip or they are chronically late and no one can rely on them. These behaviors can be pretty annoying at best and a real issue and potentially detrimental to you and others (maybe even clients) at worst.
Now that you're all revved up (sorry about that), understand that the likelihood of you actually changing that person is FAR LESS than the likelihood of you being able to change how you respond to that person to get a different result for yourself and others. What are your blind spots? Where do you fall short of properly communicating to your team? Where you do tend to lash out, shut down or take too much responsibility for things that aren't yours to control? These are all things we clearly see in others but you've got them too and although you may not spend much time thinking about them, those who work with you do. Today is the day to take a look at what these behaviors may be and spend some time to make the decision to do something about them. I know I certainly have to look at mine daily. If you're struggling to identify any, just ask someone who knows you that you trust. They won't have any problem seeing what you can't (or won't) see! I promise it's the fastest and most effective path forward.
